Today, chocolate producer Cadbury has opened a one-of-a-kind Mean Tweet Shop in Soho, London. The pop-up aims to reimagine the traditional confectionary store with a plant-based twist, celebrating the Cadbury Plant Bar whilst shining a light on the undue negative attention that veganism sometimes gets online.
After Cadbury’s looked through thousands of negative plant-based social media posts, each Plant Bar in the Mean Tweetshop has been wrapped in limited edition packaging which features a negative post about vegan products shared by a sceptic online.
The Mean Tweetshop is filled with thousands of these bars, hoping to invite plant-based and vegan product naysayers to step inside and, quite literally, eat their words. Cadbury hopes that sceptics who try the bar in store will change unjustly made opinions and uncover their love for great tasting dairy-free alternatives.
Michael Moore, marketing manager at Cadbury, comments: “The Mean Tweetshop is a true celebration of Cadbury Plant Bar and we feel that this is a chocolate that anyone can enjoy, including the sceptics. We hope that some of those who have been quick to judge plant-based products are brave enough to come down and try one for themselves, they really are that good!”
