On the heels of Climate Week NYC last week, the world’s largest climate event, award-winning Toronto-based multidisciplinary brand and design studio Bruce Mau Design (BMD) crafted a modern brand transformation for the Center for Horticultural Innovation, now Biophi“.
In order to position this new Biophi identity as the industry’s practical problem solver tackling some of today’s most urgent challenges—food security, climate change, and sustainability in controlled environment agriculture — BMD’s approach was immersive and deeply collaborative, from greenhouse site visits to stakeholder interviews.
The resulting refreshed identity system from BMD distills Biophi’s character into a flexible, future-facing brand platform consisting of a stencil wordmark that conveys agility and action, a monogram serving as a mark of authority, a layered typography system balancing expressive, technical, and pragmatic voices and a white-dominant palette emphasizing science and precision, complemented by colors drawn from Biophi’s own technologies.
