Bastion has appointed Carolyn Tesoriero as Group Client Director – Head of Qualitative, further strengthening the agency’s strategic insights capability as it continues to invest in its integrated offering and expand its qualitative research expertise for clients.
Commencing on 20 July, Tesoriero will lead Bastion’s qualitative offering, bringing more than 20 years’ experience helping organisations uncover deep consumer, cultural and market understanding to inform strategy and drive commercial growth.
Tesoriero joins Bastion from innovation and growth consultancy, Radiocarbon, where she served as Head of Research, leading the transformation of the agency’s research capability through new methodologies, frameworks and strategic consulting approaches. Prior to this, she spent seven years as Partner at Harvest Insights, where she created, built and led the agency’s qualitative practice, delivering complex qualitative and strategic consulting work across brand strategy, shopper intelligence, consumer behaviour, cultural understanding and growth opportunity identification.
Throughout her career, Tesoriero has held senior strategy and insights roles at some of Australia’s most respected research and consulting businesses, including Kantar, The Lab Strategy & Planning, Galileo Kaleidoscope and Quantum Market Research. She is recognised for translating deep consumer and cultural understanding into commercially relevant strategic recommendations, frameworks and narratives that help organisations unlock new opportunities for growth.
Joanne Norton, Managing Director, Bastion Insights, said Tesoriero’s appointment reflects the agency’s continued investment in strengthening its qualitative offering and delivering integrated, commercially focused solutions built for the modern marketer.
“Carolyn is one of Australia’s most respected qualitative insights leaders, with an exceptional ability to translate deep consumer and cultural understanding into strategies that drive meaningful commercial outcomes.”
“Her expertise further strengthens our integrated Insights capability and expands the depth of strategic thinking we bring to clients. As organisations navigate increasingly complex markets, the ability to uncover the human truths behind behaviour has never been more valuable. Carolyn’s leadership will help put our clients in a position of strength while supporting the next phase of growth for our Insights team.”
Tesoriero said the opportunity to lead Bastion’s qualitative offering within its integrated model was a key reason for joining the business.
“Bastion has built a genuinely differentiated offering that brings together insights, strategy and specialist capabilities to solve complex business challenges. The opportunity to lead and further evolve the qualitative practice within that integrated model was incredibly compelling.”
“I’ve always believed the strongest insights are those that create clarity, shape better decisions and unlock new opportunities for growth. I’m looking forward to partnering with clients and teams across the business to deliver meaningful commercial impact.”
The appointment follows a period of continued investment across Bastion’s Insights capability, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to delivering integrated solutions designed for the modern marketer and helping clients navigate increasingly complex consumer and market challenges.
As Australasia’s largest independent marketing and communications agency, Bastion combines the scale and capability of a global network with the agility of an independent, delivering integrated solutions designed for the modern marketer.
