March 6, 2024. The one thing standing between marketers and an epic SXSW experience is the epic lines that have become a signature of the overcrowded event. But this year, marketers won’t have to stand for it, because Atlantic Line Sitters—brainchild of independent creative agency Atlantic New York—will do the standing for them. Atlantic Line Sitters will hold a place in line for any marketer willing to hold a place in their calendar for a meeting with the Brooklyn-based agency.
Throughout the festival, interested customers can check the agency’s Instagram feed, @atlantic_newyork, to find out which lines are eligible, then send a DM requesting either the Standard or Premium option. (Both options are free and identical, but the Premium comes with coffee.) The standing will be done by the agency principals themselves: Co-Founders and CCOs Marco Pupo and João Coutinho, and Managing Director Suzanne Barbosa.
The SXSW line sitting service is Atlantic New York’s latest gambit to offer marketers convenience at industry confabs in exchange for introductory meetings. At the 2023 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the agency introduced Atlantic Car Service, which provided free transportation between the Nice airport and Cannes for any C-Suite marketer willing to hear their agency pitch en route.
“After our successful venture starting a Free Car Service in Cannes, we’re now expanding our complimentary white glove offerings to SXSW. Atlantic Line Sitting might soon receive more requests than we can accommodate, so reach out to us as soon as possible. Otherwise, you might have to wait in line for our services,” said Suzanne Barbosa, Managing Director of Atlantic New York.
There is no limit to the amount of time Atlantic Line Sitters will stand in line, as long as the customer commits to a meeting of equivalent length, at minimum.
When Atlantic New York isn’t coming up with low-key bribery schemes to meet potential clients, they are working with brands like TikTok, Prime Video, Yahoo, Feeld, Blockbuster, Child Mind Institute and Maison Pixel to navigate countercurrent and grow their business.
