No-one is immune from mental health problems. Struggles like anxiety or depression can knock at anyone’s door regardless of their age, gender, social status or occupation, let alone their nationality.
So, knowing that Portugal is home to over 1 million foreign residents and that many of them do not speak Portuguese, Samsung have joined forces with SOS Voz Amiga to make its emotional support and suicide prevention helpline — the oldest in the country — more inclusive. Now all the calls made to SOS Voz Amiga can be translated in real time with Live Translate — a feature powered by Galaxy AI.
With this partnership, we’re also launching a mental health awareness campaign using OOH and social media, targeted to the immigrant communities in Portugal. We want to let them know that if they feel lonely, sad or depressed, they can talk to someone and get the help they need, no matter the language they speak.
Because, after all, sometimes all it takes is having someone to talk to.
