Atari teams up with Headless Chicken to revive one of its iconic titles: Sprint. This racing game, which captivated gamers in the 1970s and 1990s, is now coming to today’s consoles, offering users the opportunity to relive the excitement of their childhood.
The collaboration between Atari and Headless Chicken has resulted in NeoSprint, an updated version of the classic, with graphical changes, improved controls and a fresh feel revamped to suit today’s standards. One of the main new features is the expanded multiplayer mode, which now supports up to 8 players.
NeoSprint pays homage to its predecessor and offers an experience reminiscent of the glory days of arcades. However, it does not simply recreate the past, but reimagines it for the present, with 3D tracks and exciting multiplayer competitions, adapting to the modern standards of the video game industry.
The game offers a variety of modes to suit all types of players, from the single player campaign to the ability to create and share your own tracks. It also includes obstacle courses and time trials, emblematic features of the arcade format that made the title famous more than 30 years ago.
With a wide selection of cars, each with their own unique characteristics and the ability to customize them with Atari-themed colors and decals, NeoSprint promises to provide hours of fun for racing fans.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, although the release date and further details are yet to be confirmed.
