Today, alma, the Miami-based shop that recently reintroduced itself to the industry as the ungeneral agency, announces the appointment of Julie L. Andrews as Head of Business Leadership.
“We are thrilled to welcome Julie Andrews as our new Head of Business Leadership at alma,” said Ana Bermudez, SVP, Managing Director at alma. “This is an incredibly important role, and we believe Julie’s experience and passion makes her perfectly suited for it. Her creativity, strategic rigor, and optimistic energy are exactly what we need to elevate our business leadership department and continue our journey as the ungeneral agency.”
Andrews comes to the position with an impressive background, most recently serving as VP, Managing Director, of R/GA, while having also spent time as Head of Delivery and Client Operations at VIRTUE Worldwide. She will oversee and drive the direction of the agency’s Business Leadership team where she will be responsible for building strong relationships with alma’s clients and stakeholders, as well as helping advance the agency’s reputation and quality of creative work. This includes leaning into the continued roll-out and reinforcement of the agency’s recently announced “ungeneral” vision and growth plan, which centers on growing beyond alma’s multicultural roots into more “general” market opportunities.
“I’m honored to join alma at such an important moment of growth and enthusiasm,” said Julie L. Andrews. “The agency is at the forefront of changing how the industry thinks about both U.S. consumers and creativity, and I can’t wait to work with our clients to create even more game-changing creative work for their brands.”
Outside of work, Andrews is a mentor at Hour Children and resides as VP, Board of Directors and Hudson Valley LGTBQ+ Community Center. She also is a Board Member at the Marcus Graham Project. Andrews will relocate from NYC to Miami for the role, and will report to Ana Bermudez, SVP Managing Director at alma.
