Shanghai, July 24, 2024 — Alibaba Cloud, a global leader in cloud computing and artificial intelligence, launched its new creative film “Did You See That?”, conceptualized by Ogilvy for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Since becoming a Worldwide Olympic Partner in 2017, Alibaba Cloud has committed to helping the IOC transform the Olympic Games for the digital era.
Through its cutting-edge technology in cloud computing, Alibaba Cloud, powered by AI, helps elevate Olympic broadcasting services, making viewing awesome. To showcase the transformative potential of their solutions, the company collaborated with Ogilvy to produce a captivating film airing across major TV channels in China and Europe.
The film is a humorous exploration of technological evolution, framed through one man’s enduring passion: wrestling. We follow his comedic frustrations, from the Ancient Greece period to today’s hyper-digital age, as he grapples with the limitations of each era’s viewing experience. Leaping serves as a recurring motif, propelling us through time and symbolizing the relentless march of progress and innovation. It is only with the advent of Alibaba Cloud’s solutions, offering an elevated viewing experience, that our main character ultimately finds satisfaction.
Shuai Zhang, General Manager of Brand Department of Alibaba Cloud, said: “We are very happy of our collaboration with Ogilvy, which, with its accurate creative insights and powerful global execution resources, helped us create an Olympic brand advertisement that global audiences can understand and appreciate. The film clearly conveys our core message: ‘Alibaba Cloud, Powered By AI, Helps Elevate Olympic Broadcasting Services, Making Viewing Awesome’, and successfully enhanced Alibaba Cloud’s brand affinity in the hearts of consumers.”
Wei Fei, Group Executive Creative Director of Ogilvy Shanghai, said: “We’re proud to help Alibaba Cloud enhance its position globally. The project demonstrates the power of borderless creativity, and the power of humor to transcend cultures—an engaging approach for technology-driven companies to showcase how their solutions contribute to spreading the Olympic culture and spirit.”
