Alejandro will take over as executive creative director with a focus on growth and Jaime will take on executive creative director focused on creative excellence
Alejandro Barrera and Jaime Perea, publicists with more than 20 years of experience, were promoted by McCann Worldgroup Colombia to head the creative department of the operation. Both have experience in the main agencies in the country and with large local and global accounts, in addition to winning awards in the most important international and local festivals of creativity and effectiveness.
Álvaro Fuentes, CEO of the office located in the Top 10 of Effie Index Latin America, expressed that “we know that their talent, experience and particular strengths will efficiently complement each other to accelerate the pace towards the next level in all dimensions of creativity, and their contribution to our growth and evolution will be vital in helping our clients’ brands earn a meaningful role in people’s lives.”
For Alejandro Barrera, who is also a philosopher and will take over as executive creative director with a focus on growth, one of his priorities with the team will be to maintain a constant learning mindset.

Meanwhile, Jaime Perea, who has dabbled in literature and was the winner of the Short Story Award from the Bogota Institute of Arts, will take the position of executive creative director focused on creative excellence. In this role he will aim to elevate the agency’s ambition “and develop criteria to turn consumer insights into engaging, memorable stories that can compete with the vast array of existing content.”
This creative team will be complemented by Miguel Pirateque, who has a master’s degree in data visualisation and information design and another in User Experience for Digital Transformation. He will continue in the position of director of innovation and creative integration, which he joined in the middle of last year to find innovative solutions to the challenges facing the agency and its clients.
