New York City, NY, May, 2025 – In a world increasingly shaped by digital hostility and societal fragmentation, AddressHate emerges with a bold, poetic gesture: a monumental artwork by Franco-Swiss artist Saype, known for his biodegradable land art in more than 20 countries. Initiated by the Laterman Family Foundation with live production elements by Park Pictures, New Yorkers are invited to view Saype’s floating artwork, a manifestation of AddressHate Initiative’s global mission.
Saype’s work, widely shared across the globe, consistently generates a viral and positive impact, with thousands sharing images of his giant symbols of unity, now visually echoing the values carried by the Laterman Family Foundation’s AddressHate Initiative. Rooted in a shared digital space, the foundation aims to reclaim imagination, not incite division. Known for his deeply committed work on environmental, humanist, and social causes, Saype was a natural ally to give visual form to the movement.
From a peaceful waterfront location, New Yorkers and visitors can admire Saype’s message of unity and hope this Mother’s Day weekend from May 9 to May 11. The floating ephemeral artwork will be stationed and visible on the Hudson River from the public Pier 57 Rooftop Park and the Little Island’s Vista Point.
Saype remarks, “This project is a step toward a new alliance between creativity and responsibility. Art can offer the space to breathe again — and to believe in something common.”
Park Pictures first collaborated with artist Saype several years ago for Lavazza’s annual calendar, with rostered director Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki photographing the project. For this latest piece, Park worked closely with the art department bringing Saype’s vision to life—overseeing scouting, permitting, and the full scope of production logistics.
Caroline Kousidonis, Executive Producer of Park Pictures, adds, “We were honored to work with Saype and the team at AddressHate to produce something so moving. We’re huge fans of Saype, and doing work that elevates purposeful causes is very close to our heart at Park. We can’t wait to watch this incredible artwork come to life.”
“Great art is like any great media: it communicates, and it connects us to each other. It enables us to transmit messages both intergenerationally across time as well as across cultures and beliefs. We genuinely hope we can encourage people to immerse themselves in the present moment, experience the public art and the energy of New York City,” explains Frances Laterman, Chair of the Board and Trustee of the Laterman Family Foundation.
Park Pictures was founded in 1998 by Executive Producer Jacqueline Kelman Bisbee and renowned filmmaker/ cinematographer Lance Acord.
