A Decade of Borderless Production: The Roots Celebrates 10 Years

Marking a decade of global production expertise, production service company The Roots celebrates its ten-year anniversary. With over 100 successful projects across commercials, music videos, documentaries and feature films, the company has embraced a borderless approach, delivering seamless production solutions worldwide. 

A trusted collaborator for noted North American and European production companies, The Roots has bridged international productions, providing high-quality local teams, production resources, and strategic expertise to every project from conception to delivery. With established offices in Chile, Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico, the company’s presence continues to expand. The Mexico office, launched four years ago, is now strongly established, providing full in-house capabilities supported by a highly skilled local crew. But for The Roots, it’s not simply about working in specific countries or regions. 

“Rather than expand with tentpole offices in every country, we operate, by design, as borderless, which for us means the choices are limitless,” shares The Roots Founder, Ariel Isacovitch. “Whether it is Ireland or Africa or Chile, it is about seeing the bounty and beauty in each place while staying nimble, open, and flexible for our many partners. That’s ultimately the definition of global.” 

Over the past decade, The Roots has collaborated with some of the industry’s most visionary directors and celebrated talent. Highlights include Lady Gaga’s new music video “Dead Dance,” directed by Tim Burton, Werner Herzog’s documentary “Ghost Elephants,” which premiered at Venice and Telluride in 2025 and work with directors Jake Scott, Robert Stromberg, Drew Kirsch, Neal Brennan, Jonathan Krisel, Malik Sayeed, Alan Yang and Kevin Bray. The Roots has also worked with high-profile talent such as Regina King, Shaquille O’Neal, Damian Lillard, Pedro Pascal and Jason Sudeikis.

According to acclaimed director Werner Herzog, “When doing preparations and shooting of a film with various international partners involved, the moment of truth quickly materializes. The Roots has been involved in my last four films, and this company has been so reliable and so professional that I make it my conditio sine qua non to have them on board at the center of my next upcoming projects.”

Looking ahead, the company is preparing for an exciting slate of projects, including Herzog’s fiction film “Bucking Fastard,” starring Kate and Rooney Mara and Orlando Bloom, the Coca-Cola campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and a series of major campaigns launching late 2025 into early 2026. 

“I look back on ten years and remember the child I was, hungry and restless, standing on the front lines as a location guy, navigating possibilities and believing the world would provide,” concludes Isacovitch. “That belief has woven itself through this journey, a thriving state of being that I now share with a team, a family, my roots, all nourished by the boundless creative nutrition our community offers so freely. Here we are, ten years on, held by a beautiful community that continues to sustain and inspire us.”
