EP Katya Meyer and HOP Kristina Thoegersen join EP Jenn Mersis to further bolster
the bi-coastal edit house’s female management team.
Los Angeles, CA, May , 2023 — Woman-owned, bicoastal edit house The Den rounds out their leadership team with the addition of Executive Producer Katya Meyer in New York, and Kristina Thoegersen as Head of Production. Katya and Kristina join LA-based EP Jenn Mersis, cementing the power trio guiding and managing The Den’s talented roster of editors with their collective decades of experience.
Katya Meyer and Jenn Mersis’ collective tenure in production and post-production covers a myriad of experiences from VFX, ad agencies, production companies, and more. Meyer worked her way up from film development assistant at Robert DeNiro’s Tribeca Productions to launching NY-based Hispanic market commercial production company Catatonia Giraldi with legendary commercial and music video director Bob Giraldi. Mersis started in advertising after graduating with a costly philosophy degree, which she could put to no use. Luckily for The Den and many others prior, Jenn chose to hone her skills in production and post-production. Navigating a wide breadth of the inner machinations of filmmaking makes Meyer and Mersis uniquely suited both as individuals and as a team to bring The Den to new heights in the world of editing.
Known for finding creative solutions, Head of Production Kristina Thoegersen loves seeing through projects from bid to ship. She started her producing career as a receptionist at The Mission, a creative studio out of Venice, CA. There, she added VFX to her skillset before leaving to produce as a freelancer in 2015. In addition to The Mission, Thoegersen worked as a producer with Saint, Mirada, and Exile before joining The Den.
