CHEP has announced the appointment of Nick Jia (pictured left) as the executive director of marketing technology. Jia, a renowned MarTech expert in Australia, will be responsible for driving the growth of the marketing technology function at CHEP. His role will involve meeting the increasing demand for advanced personalization, cross-channel marketing, and customer data management solutions.
Previously serving as the chief growth officer at Anchora, Jia successfully developed and launched their MarTech capability. Prior to that, he held software vendor positions at Adobe and Experian, as well as technical consulting roles in various agencies across the country.
Throughout his career, Jia has collaborated with prominent brands such as Bupa, IAG, Kayo, Singapore Airlines, Tabcorp, and Velocity, among others, to enhance their commercial performance through the application of innovative technology solutions.
Mark Gretton (pictured right), the chief technology officer of CHEP Network, comments on the appointment: “Since the inception of our MarTech practice seven years ago, we have witnessed companies embracing a wide range of solutions. However, the next generation of AI-powered, cloud-based technologies is even more exciting. As highlighted in Gartner’s CMO Spend Survey, CMOs now allocate approximately 25% of their budget to MarTech.”
Gretton expresses his excitement about Jia joining the team, emphasizing his exceptional expertise in data-driven marketing. He believes Jia’s inclusion will further accelerate the growth and impact of CHEP’s well-established and mature MarTech function.
Jia himself shares his enthusiasm, stating, “Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in various types of businesses, and I have thoroughly enjoyed each experience. However, there is no other services business in Australia that has seamlessly integrated creative, media, and technology services on such a large scale, as the CHEP team has done.”
He acknowledges CHEP’s impressive work in transforming and innovating end-to-end digital customer experiences for major businesses in the region. Jia praises the highly collaborative, ego-free, and positive culture at CHEP, which he has consistently heard great things about. He believes the company is on the brink of a new wave of growth and momentum, and he is thrilled to be a part of it.
