A boutique independent marketing agency, DesignStreet, has been chosen as the communications partner for the creation and execution of the Voter Awareness Campaign for the 2023 New South Wales State General Election. Five agencies submitted proposals for the project in a competitive tender.
According to DesignStreet CEO, Jonty Hardy (pictured above), the campaign is a major win for the agency with far-reaching impact. The campaign is designed to reach all adults of voting age, across the entire state, over a 3 to 4-month period.
Says Hardy: “Our proposal was successful due to its simplicity and the extent to which it provided a direct answer to the requirements of the brief. Sometimes simple solutions are the hardest to create, and we are very excited by the concepts that were approved and that are now being developed in the studio.
“We have been an approved supplier on the NSW Government Advertising and Digital Communications Prequalification Services Scheme for many years, and this SGE 2023 Voter Awareness Campaign is the largest single project we have been awarded.
“We will work in partnership with OMD to develop the creative executions required by their media strategy.”
“There are very high KPIs that have to be achieved in terms of voter awareness, with the ultimate measurement being the turnout of voters at election time.”
The campaign will include TV, radio, digital, social media, newspaper advertising and out of home executions. The campaign will unfold over three phases, with a major emphasis in the weeks leading up to the election itself.
Adds Hardy: “We are extremely proud to have been selected for this prestigious project and we are very excited to be tasked with the execution of a campaign that has this scale and visibility across the state.”
