Today the NBA G League premiered its 2022-23 season brand campaign “A Whole Different league” featuring GRAMMY ® award-winning artist and part owner of the NBA G League’s College Park Skyhawks, 2 Chainz, streaming now across all @NBAGLeague social platforms and on Gleague.nba.com.
The new campaign highlights the gritty determination of a league filled with the soon-to-be-discovered NBA stars of tomorrow. Combining graphic novel animations with action-packed G League highlights, the campaign focuses on how G League players make it to the next level by being “built different”. Set to the soundtrack of 2 Chainz’s iconic song “I’m Different”, which is also celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the spot takes fans on the journey of Golden State Warriors’ Jordan Poole from a G League standout to 2022 NBA Champion.
Created in conjunction with Atlanta-based creative agency Majority, which is co-founded by NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal, the spot will air across linear, social and digital channels beginning on Wednesday, Nov 2. The 2022-23 G League season tips off Friday, Nov. 4 with a full slate of games including 2 Chainz’s College Park Skyhawks hosting the Long Island Nets at 7 p.m. ET at the Gateway Center Arena.
