Alma has hired Daisy Delgado as VP and group account director, joining from McCann Health.
In the new role, Delgado will lead expansion in the health and wellness sector, building upon the company’s current roster of clients including Eli Lilly, CVS Health and Aetna.
Prior to working at McCann Health, Delgado held roles at Publicis and Digitas Health. Delgado, who is of Ecuadorian descent, will also help Alma target multicultural segments and boost authenticity in health and wellness.
“We’re very excited to welcome Daisy to Alma,” Alma CEO and co-president Isaac Mizrahi said in a statement. “Over the past few years we’ve witnessed a higher interest in multicultural work from the health and wellness industry, and her expertise will be an excellent resource for us and our clients, both new and current, as we introduce and grow their presence in the space.”
Daisy’s appointment comes as the healthcare sector shows an increased interest in targeting multicultural segments, namely Hispanics, who are now the fastest growing multicultural segment in the US. Her hire signals alma’s commitment to strengthening authentic multicultural representation in health & wellness, as the demographic faces considerably more challenges than others when it comes to managing their health and accessing treatment.
“Reaching multicultural audiences will be one of the biggest opportunities for health and wellness brands in 2023, but one of their biggest challenges will be reaching them authentically,” says Daisy. “I’m confident alma’s strategic rigor and dedication to genuine connections with consumers will be an incredible asset for these brands, and I’m looking forward to supporting and building on their leadership within the space.”
