Shanghai Sweetshop has promoted Laura Geagea to Regional Managing Director of China, Asia, and MENA.
In her new role, she will oversee Sweetshop’s China and Asia operations from a strategic perspective, working hand-in-hand with Sweetshop China’s Senior Executive Producer Catherine Law, as well as Sweetshop Asia’s Executive Producer Penny Woo and Senior Bidding Producer Jennifer Crabb.
While running Sweetshop’s Asia operations which opened in 2012, Geagea opened Sweetshop’s office in Shanghai in 2017 in response to the market’s growing need for content produced to international standards by a company that has a strong understanding of local brands and agencies,” said Sweetshop.
Both businesses have been growing in parallel, and today Sweetshop China is the fastest growing office in a network of seven, while Sweetshop Asia is the second.
To have witnessed the respect and high regard in which Laura is held in the region, has been both wonderful and unsurprising,”
said Wilf Sweetland, Global CEO of Sweetshop.
“We could not wish for a more driven, razor-sharp and inspiring leader to grow our operations across China and Asia. This new regional role is a testament to Laura’s prowess and I look forward to further deepening our brand across the regions with Laura at the helm.”
Geagea added, “Sweetshop’s and my own journey in Asia continues. Witnessing our brand reputation and the team we have built in the region is brilliant. This regional position gives me the opportunity to take a step back and look at everything from above. We have built an incredibly strong team that I can’t wait to work more with and we have an absolute commitment to continuing to build our directors and our craft. Anything is possible.”
