Independent creative PR agency FORWARD has been appointed by Aquna Sustainable Murray Cod following a competitive pitch process.

Aquna Sustainable Murray Cod is an ASX-listed producer of premium, farm-grown Murray cod. Previously an endangered fish, the Murray cod is returning to our dinner plates thanks to significant investment and innovation by Aquna in sustainable commercial fish farming practices in the Murray-Darling Basin.

Aquna features on the menus of some of Australia’s top high-end restaurants, including Stokehouse, Saint Peter, MuMu, and Aria.

FORWARD has been appointed to help build the brand’s profile with consumers and inspire and educate Aussie home cooks as the brand continues its roll out into Coles and Woolworths in 2023.

FORWARD will be responsible for media relations, media and influencer events and brand profile building, as well as content creation and recipe development with leading Australian fish restaurateur and chef, Josh Niland.

Says Ross Anderson, chairman, Aquna: “FORWARD demonstrated deep food sector knowledge and expertise and a real passion for our business and dynamic ideas for how they can support us to build the Aquna brand in content, earned, and social.”

Says Fergus Kibble, founder and managing director, FORWARD: “We are delighted to be chosen by Aquna as their public relations partner. Aquna is developing a new market for Australia’s iconic native fish, and its presence and profile with leading Australian chefs is impressive. We look forward to working with the team to introduce Aquna to Australian consumers and home cooks.”

The appointment is effective from October 1, 2022.
