In an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of a child drowning, APSI – The Association for the Promotion of Child Safety in collaboration with creative agency Havas Portugal, has launched a new campaign with a heavy metal band playing at the bottom of a pool to illustrate how death by drowning is a silent tragedy.
According to the campaign, in Portugal, drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death among children and young people, with 274 deaths in recent years. Most often these fatalities occur due to a lack of supervision around familiar surroundings including bathtubs, garden ponds, neighborhood pools, lakes, rivers, seashores, and even in buckets.

The muffled, 30-second black and white film was directed by Enrique Escamilla, with the original score from Fred Ferreira.
